Want to avoid serving on a jury? Move to a new country.

I think jury duty is an amazing way to serve my country, and to contribute to a just legal process. However, I know many people think otherwise. People can go to great lengths to avoid serving on a jury. The simplest way is to say you are busy. If they don't buy that, research the case as much as possible, and then you can honestly say you have already formed an opinion about the case.

For a more radical option, try this: move to a new country! The above map shows countries that do not have a jury system. You have a lot of choices, outside of North America, British Isles, and Australia/New Zealand. Sadly, much of of the Caribbean is off limits: no retirement to white sand beaches for jury evaders.
